Story of the Pattern:The 4 blocks are set in a way as to depict the “Barn Raising” pattern of the Log Cabin.
This block is in memory of Dorothy Wheeler a long time extension homemaker and retired teacher from this community. It is on the property of her sister-in-law who is in the nursing home. It also honors Revery Cassity (the sister-in-law. She also was an extension homemaker and retired teacher from the same community. The design of fabrics was taken from Dorothy's quilt that she constructed in an extension quilt block class. I have photos of her with the quilt. The quilt is now in Washington State with her niece Sheryl (Cassity) Ackler.
